Mr O'Mahony's 2nd Class were busy in our outdoor classroom today learning about turf and practicing stacking it.
There were lots of laughs as they guessed what could be in the bag that teacher had brought all the way from Kerry! They learned that turf comes from a bog and it can used on fires to heat our homes. This activity was part of the SESE work on the farm and the jobs the farmer might have.
In teams they tried their hand at stacking the turf themselves before having a giant game of 'turf buckeroo' as a class! Their patience and cooperation really impressed their teacher.
