Running Away From The Rain
Over the past few weeks, we have been running a Daily Mile initiative to help keep all children active during the dreary and miserable winter weather.
As part of this initiative, children have been heading out for a 5–10 minute jog a couple of times a week, giving them a chance to get moving, improve their fitness, and enjoy some fresh air during the school day.
It certainly hasn’t been easy. With strong winds and heavy rain, we were unsure whether we would be able to head to Collinstown Park on Friday as planned. In the end, we needn’t have worried at all.
The boys and girls in First and Second Class showed fantastic determination. They zipped up their coats, braved the elements, and ran as fast as the strong winds would allow! Their effort, resilience, and positive attitudes were brilliant to see.
Have a look at some of the photos below to see the effort—and more importantly, the fun—the children are having, even in the rain. A great reminder that a bit of bad weather doesn’t have to stop us getting active! 🌬️🌦️😊
