Ms. O'Shea's 2nd class visit the IMMA

20th Nov 2021

The final 2nd class of 2nd class pupils visited the Irish Museum of Modern Arts grounds at Kilmainham on Friday in continuing to gather information and ideas for our Creative Schools project in establishing our Classroom in the Sun outdoor classroom and sensory garden project.

Sandra Murphy led the children as part of the biodiversity tour offered by the IMMA Visitor Engagement Team. She is a biodiversity enthusiast, wildlife photographer, and birder. Mary Condon is the Chargehand Craft Gardener at IMMA and she was on hand to deliver the nursery tour. Also in attendance was our Arts Associate Clodagh Emoe who is working closely with our school as part of Creative Schools and our community engagement project and our envisaged Classroom in the Sun.

The children discovered lots about Biodiversity and were excited to climb and explore the wonderous gardens and grounds at Kilmainham which are home to a whole variety of plants and trees as well as small creatures, insects, and animals that share our world.

Check out the photo's below to get a real sense of how the children really enjoyed themselves......
