Maths Week 2025

15th Oct 2025

We celebrated Maths Week in style last week with a packed timetable of fun, hands-on activities designed to get everyone thinking, talking, and enjoying maths!

Throughout the week, classes took part in Maths Trails, exploring how maths is all around us in everyday life. Parents joined in too, running Maths Stations that gave children the chance to practise key skills through games, puzzles, and challenges.

Across the school, pupils learned new Maths Games, while some classes explored the fascinating Four Colour Rule — discovering how just four colours can be used to shade any map without two neighbouring areas matching!

We rounded off the week with a lively Maths Quiz, full of teamwork, quick thinking, and plenty of laughter.

At home, Junior and Senior Infants took part in special “Maths at Home” activities for their homework, helping families see how much fun learning maths together can be. Meanwhile, First and Second Classes competed in an IXL challenge, with Mr Tynan’s and Mr Devine’s classes taking home the prizes for the most activity completed.

It was a fantastic week celebrating curiosity, problem-solving, and the joy of maths!
