Halls of fun here at St. Marys

3rd Nov 2021

As a result of our very successful Creative Pumpkin competition run by the newly formed Parent's Association, we were successful in part-funding a colourful and imaginative sensory route on our junior corridor.

Halls of Fun visited us on Wednesday to install our tailored sensory route. The routes provide time for children to engage with their senses in a focused way, which has been proven to improve learning and memory as it actively builds connections within the brain. The routes encourage motor skill development such as spatial awareness, balance, and hand-eye coordination. The routes also provide creative opportunities for movement breaks that can help children to manage stress, hyperactivity, or anxiety.

We hope to continue designing the rest of the school's corridors with our continued fundraising events.

The children have already taken to exploring the colourful and magical designs.....
