First Class Athletic Club

4th Mar 2026

Over the past few weeks we have been running a Lunchtime Athletics Club in the school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. With the weather particularly wet lately, it gave the children a great chance to get active during lunch rather than spending the whole break indoors.

Twenty children from 1st Class took part in each session, meaning that over forty children got involved across the two groups. The focus of the club was simple: running, jumping, balancing, teamwork, fun and games.

The energy from the children was brilliant from the very first day. It was fantastic to see them encouraging one another, celebrating small wins and throwing themselves fully into each activity. Lunchtime clubs like this are a great way for children to build confidence in movement, develop coordination and simply enjoy being active with their friends.

It was also perfect timing in the lead up to our Colour Run this Friday. After a few weeks of sprinting, dodging, jumping and racing around the hall, the children are more than ready to take on the challenge!

A big well done to everyone who took part. The enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitudes made the club a huge success.
