Over the past number of weeks, we have ran a World Cup competition during lunch time for the boys and girls in first and second class.
We started with 15 teams and 75 players and went through a round of 16, quarter finals and finals until we had the World Cup final on Thursday 25th June to much excitement around the school.
Considering the magnitude of the event, the match was played at 1pm with the whole school invited out to watch and cheer on their friends as Brazil and France battled it out.
Both teams gave it their all and unfortunately there could only be one winner with Brazil taking the gold medals home. All credit to France for their fine efforts including Shea from senior infants who received a late call up and is surely one to watch for the future.
