We participated in the Amber Flag Initiative which is an initiative run by Pieta House focusing on promoting positive mental health in schools. We set ourselves four goals which included;
- To hold a mental health awareness day and wellbeing week
- To hold a fundraising event for Pieta house
- To establish an amber flag notice board in our school
- To hold a range of staff wellbeing event
We reached these goals through participating in arts and crafts, yoga, gardening, mindfulness, wellbeing walks, meditation and breathing techniques. We were successful in achieving the flag in May 2021 which now flies proudly outside of our school. We would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions to our fundraising event for Pieta House. We raised €681.78 for this great cause. Both our staff and students thoroughly enjoyed partaking this initiative.
